James Windell Hanna, 69, of Webster Springs, passed away at his home on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Born May 11, 1956 in Webster Springs, he was the son of the late Paul and Glenna Mae (Goff) Hanna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Hall, and his brothers: Bill Hanna, Matthew Hanna, and Wayne Hanna.
Jim was a logger by trade and was also very proud of his time mining at Peaker Run mine. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He could often be found attending family cookouts, riding around the county trading guns, and sharing his love of President Trump. When home, he could be found propped up watching a good Western TV show like Gunsmoke. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs: Shag and Brewser.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan (Anderson) Hanna; his daughters: Angela (Bobby) Gilles, Jamie (Matthew) Pyle, and Kristie (Jereamiah) McCourt; grandchildren: Brandi (Tyler) Goodwin, Tyler Gilles, Andrea and Brooke Pyle, Alexus, Peyton, and Jereamiah McCourt; great-grandchildren: Kayson, Khalani, and Oaklynn and one great-granddaughter expected soon; sister, Charlotte (Milton) Tanner; and brother, John Hanna; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Graveside services to celebrate Jim’s life will be held 2pm, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Hanna Cemetery, Low Gap Road, Webster Springs, WV with Pastor Doy Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
