Irma Edith Cowger, 84 of Cleveland passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Irma was born January 21, 1941, in Bendertown and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Fisher Bender. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Irma was a member of the Jerrys Run United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, camping, cleaning fish that Eugene had caught, deer hunting, watching the hummingbirds on the porch, loved playing cards like progressive rummy and setback to name a few, found pleasure in cooking big family meals for everyone to enjoy but more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed tremendously.
Surviving are her loving husband, Eugene; children, Louise (Sonny Arbogast) Hamrick, Tommy (Patricia) Cowger, Darlene (Danny Snyder) Groves and Kenneth (Christina) Cowger; grandchildren, Pooh (Ashley), Jonathan (Holly), Sara (Randy), Danielle (Everette), Thomas (Julie) and Blaise (Nikki); great grandchildren, Cambree, Jerrick, Emma, Ellie, Eleah, William, Zoni, Jocelyn, Olivia and Maxton; a brother, Dewey (Jean) Bender and many other extended family member and friends that will miss her.
Service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Gary Garden and Deacon Billy Lake officiating. Burial will follow at Vance Cemetery, Hacker Valley. Friends may join the family for visitation 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
