Hattie "Skip" Gilles

Hattie Bethel “Skip” Gilles, 90 of Webster Springs passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Genesis Health Care in Salem. She was born September 23, 1927 in Norman, OK to Granville and Ellen Daniels Thornhill and was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and was always busy.

Hattie is survived by her daughters Dorthy Jean (Harold) Hackett of Denver, CO, Katherine Ellen (Ralph) Hosey of Diamond, OH, and Phyllis Jane “Janie” (Paul) McCourt of Webster Springs; sisters Estell Beller, Ruby Logsden-Rencher, and Myrtle Williams all of OK; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Nellie (Larry) Rice; brothers-in-law Jim (companion Darlene McCoy) Gilles and Lonnie Cogar; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Gilles; sister Mary; and father and mother-in-law Ora and Mabel Cutlip Gilles.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Curt Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Cogar Cemetery, Laurel Fork, Webster Springs.
