Harold Bender

Harold James Bender of Hacker Valley passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at his home, at the age of 76. He was born November 30, 1933 in Webster County to the late Frank Bender and Mary Fisher Bender.
Harold was a life long resident of Webster County, and like most he loved to hunt. Harold is preceded into death by both his parents, three brothers; Curt, Herbert, and Earnest Bender, three sisters; Blanch Dietch, Emma Britt and Velma Cowger; and one grandchild.
Harold is survived by his wife; Naomi Silman Bender of Hacker Valley, sons; James (Rosie) Bender of Tioga, Donald (Marian) Bender, Bailey (Bonnie) Bender, Robert (Joyce) Bender, and Samual Bender all of Hacker Valley, four daughters; Angela (Charlie) Green, Regina (Richard) Cogar, and Charlotte (Gary) Hall all of Hacker Valley, and Christine (Andrew) Hall of Wheeling, one brother; Dewey Bender of Hacker Valley, and four sisters; Lena Silman, Thelma Orcia both of Michigan, Erma Cowger of Cleveland, WV, and Sylvia June Clutter of Webster Springs. Harold was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6-9 pm at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs. Services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 1 pm with Rev. Chris Cosner officiating. Burial will follow at Cutlip Cemetery in Hacker Valley. Dodd & Reed Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
