Gloria Faye Sandy, 73 of Webster Springs passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Beckley. She was born May 26, 1939 in Layland, Fayette County, WV to Hubert and Susie Freda McKinney Miller and was a homemaker. She lived the majority of her life in Webster County, previously living in Florida, North Carolina, and Iowa. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bolair and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her husband Larry Richard Sandy; son Eddy (Tammi) Sandy of Charlotte, NC; daughter Jennifer Lynn (Mike) Cowger of Beckley; brother Larry Miller of Sarasota, FL; sisters Betty Mason of Hico, Ann Starcher of Cortland, OH, Glenna Mayer of Hartville, OH, and Nancy Danko of Atwater, OH; grandchildren J. C. Phares, John Cowger, Jacob Cowger, Joshua Sandy, and Brandon Sandy; and great-grandchildren Jack and Jill Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers guy and Johnny Miller; and sister Madeline.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. John Radcliff officiating. Interment will follow in McAvoy Cemetery.
