Gerald R. Ware, 75 of Diana passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Nicholas County Nursing & Rehab Center in Richwood. He was born February 11, 1939 in Hodam Creek, Hacker Valley to John and Louie Ware and was a logger and timber cutter. He was a lifelong resident of Webster County and attended Happy House Church. He enjoyed fishing, walking in the woods, growing his ramp patch, and was a great storyteller.
Gerald is survived by his wife Connie Hamrick of Diana; son Craig Ray Ware of Diana; brother David Michael Ware of Charleston; sister Carol Ruth Hines of Richwood; and half-sister Joy Cogar. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jimmy, Harold, and Roger Lee Ware; sisters Ellen, Bernice, and Mary Ann; and his first wife Rose.
Friends may join the family for Funeral Services on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Bender officiating. Private interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Diana.
