Genevieve Bennett of South Carolina died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the age of 85, in the comfort of her home. Genevieve was born December 10, 1925 in Cool Springs, WV to the late Harley Hall and Omedia Cowger Hall.
Genevieve is survived by her son: Emil (Sharon) Bennett of Thurmont, MD, daughter: Bonnie Hanshaw of Myrtle Beach, SC, four grandchildren: David Hanshaw, and Dough Hanshaw both of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tammy Bennett of Fredrick, MD, Todd (Claire) Bennett of Thurmont, MD, four great grandchildren: April (Bobby) Schramm, and Lisa Hanshaw both of Medina, OH, Colton and Charley Bennett both of Thurmont, MD, four great great-grandchildren all of Medina, OH, and one sister Almarinda Cutlip. Genevieve was preceded into death by her parents: Harley Hall and Omedia Cowger Hall, husband: Perry Bennett, two sisters: Lucinda McCoy and Geraldine Hall, brother: Goodrich Hall, granddaughter: Donna Handshaw, and two loving nieces: Judy Cutlip Hall and Retha McCoy Hall.
Friends may call on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home from 11am-1pm. Services will be at 1pm with Rev. Kyle Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery in Diana, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to Mercy Hospice, P.O. Box 50640 Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
