Gary Don Williams, 70 of Webster Springs went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018 at CAMC Memorial Division. He was born April 14, 1947 in Cherry Falls to Everett R. and Mary A. Conrad Williams and was a lifelong resident of Webster County.
He was a coal miner for 38 years, working the majority of the time for Island Creek Coal Company, and a proud member of UMWA. He loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Young Williams; son Gary L. “Pork” (companion Elizabeth) Williams of Webster Springs; daughter Sharon Williams (husband Jim) Clayton of Curtin; brother Arnett Ray (wife Barb) Williams of Webster Springs; sisters Audra Hamrick of Boone County and Thelma Beverage of Braxton County; special grandchildren Christopher (Bethany) Clayton, Alison Clayton, and Aden Taylor; great-granddaughter Faith Clayton; special other loved ones that will cherish his memory Jazzy, Michael, Myles, and Lydia; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold Ratliff and Junior R. Williams.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 11:00 to 2:00 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Eulogy will be given at 2:00 PM by Rev. Marty Cowger. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs.
