Gale Garrison Cogar, 65 of Webster Springs passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born December 01, 1949 in Richwood to Elza Garrison and Sylvia Gladys Cadle Cogar and was a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed bluegrass music, and loved spending time with his grandkids.
Gale is survived by his wife of 44 years, Louetta Ruth Amos Cogar; children Philip Gale (wife Jessica) Cogar and Brandi Lynnette (husband Paul) Young; grandchildren Sawyer Young, Ryleigh Young, and Traycen Young; sisters Mildred (husband Bill) Morris and Doris Jarvis; step-brother Boyd (wife Anna) Armstrong; sister-in-law Debbie Cogar; brother-in-law John McCourt; step-brother-in-law Raymond Hamner; and many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred and Jesse Cogar; sisters Audrey Gadd, Dorothy Casto, and Vada Frame; brothers-in-law Dick Jarvis, George Wyatt, Argil Casto, and Bud Jarvis; and sisters-in-law Jean Cogar and Hazel Cogar.
Friends may join the family for a time of remembrance on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
