Francis Rose

Francis Louise “Pete” Rose departed this Earth on Saturday, November 9, 2019, in Webster Springs, West Virginia. Pete was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Arlice Rose, four brothers and sisters, and her beloved companion, Emery Smallman. She is survived by her children, Edward Rieth Jr., and Michelle Rieth.

Pete, a graduate of Cowen High School, married and moved to Elyria, Ohio, in 1969, before she and her family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1979. She was a working woman, spending many years in the manufacturing and electronics industries. But her West Virginia roots were strong and she moved back to West Virginia in 2002 to care for her terminally ill mother. Shortly thereafter, she met and fell in love with Emery, with whom she stayed with and cared for until his death in 2015.

Pete loved sports, especially football and basketball. She had a knack for remembering odd and random sports trivia. She also loved music, even naming one of the last dogs she owned, Elvis. Lastly, she loved her family and was planning a trip back out to Arizona to spend time with her children and grand-puppies before her unexpected and abrupt departure. She will be missed, but her children know that she’s now at peace and wish her well on her next big adventure. May the Force be with you, mom.

In keeping with Pete’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
