Frances Quinn

September 25, 1942 — December 8, 2017

Frances Jean Pugh Quinn left a long battle with Cancer behind to be reunited with her husband John “Harley” Quinn, on December 8, 2017, in the comfort of her home. She was born on September 25, 1942, to Benard W and Lula McCartney Pugh, of Hodam Creek, Hacker Valley, WV. She was a life-long resident of Hacker Valley, WV.

Frances was a Christian by faith, and raised a family with her husband, of one son, daughter-in-law, 3 granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter. Coming from a large family of 8 sisters and 1 brother, made her strong love for her family come very easy. She enjoyed talking on the phone and visiting with her siblings regularly and always looked forward to the annual Pugh Reunions. Along with family gatherings, her other hobbies included photography, reading the paper and monthly horoscopes, collecting and hunting for rocks, and recently sea shells due to her new found love for the beach.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her sisters; Geraldine Roode, Lucille Barbe, and Lyvonne Funkhouser.

She is survived by her son; Shelton “George” (Rosa) Quinn of Hacker Valley, granddaughters; Lorena (companion: Matthew Ware) Quinn of Cottle/Cowen, WV, Kimberly (companion Takiel Randolph) Quinn of Hacker Valley/Fairmont, WV, Mikaela (Brandon) Taylor of Hacker Valley, great granddaughter; Harley Elise Ritchie of Cottle/Cowen, WV, sisters; Agnes Bleigh of French Creek, WV, Delores (Patty) Jordon of Buckhannon, WV, Patricia (Robert) Barbe, Sharon Pugh, and Barbara Quinn all of Hacker Valley, WV, her brother; Benard “Wally” (Sue) Pugh Jr of Buckhannon, WV, as well as countless cousins, in-laws, nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews, and her beloved dog; Blackie.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
