Elmer Joy Gibson, 70, of Webster Springs, WV, departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in UPMC-Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Bergoo, WV, the son of the late Elmer and Desta Russell Gibson. He was a decorated veteran of the US Army, a Methodist by faith, a member of Addison Lodge AF & AM #116, Knights of Pythias, and Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Annette Job, and brothers: Paul and Junior Gibson.
Those left to cherish his memory are brothers: Edwin (Teresa) Gibson of Webster Springs, WV, William (Nancy) Gibson of Brownsville, TX, and Cameron (Joan) Gibson of Portland, OR, sister: Joyce (Robert) Morris of Fairmont, WV, and best friend: Cathy Vanskiver of Webster Springs, WV.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Bender officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Cemetery, Craigsville, WV, where Masonic Rites will be performed by Addison Lodge #116, and military rites by Addison McLoughlin VFW Post #3738. Friends may call Monday, June 2, from 6-9 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, WV.
