Ellen Ann “Annie” Sparks, 61 of Webster Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Glenville Center. She was born February 21, 1955 in Webster County to George Junior and Delphia Lee Blankenship Sparks and was a laborer for Bright of America. She was a lifelong resident of Webster County and a member of Elk Valley Chapel.
While Annie never had any children of her own, she loved all children, especially her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed sending cards to all her family and friends for every occasion and brought a smile to everyone who knew her. She was a member of the JobCorp and Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Annie is survived by her brother Gary Sparks; sister Ruth Clevenger; special niece Riley Sparks, that she was instrumental in raising; special friend Brenda Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Delbert, Charles, and Stephen Sparks; sisters Reva Dale Williams and Carolyn Riffle; and nephew Johnny Sparks.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Annie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kyle Hall and Doy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Trail Cemetery, Craigsville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dodd & Reed Funeral Home to assist the family with arrangements.
