Elizabeth Simmons

Elizabeth Ann Skidmore “Libby” Simmons, 85, wife of sixty-five years to Hurley Homer Simmons, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019.

Born in Smithfield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Don Levi Skidmore and Goldie Phipps Skidmore Garland. She retired from Stone Properties, was a member of The Gideons International, and was a Baptist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, John E. Simmons (Renay J.) of Anchorage, AK; daughters Donna Ann Simmons Bodenmiller (Tim Alan) of Berea, OH and Lisa Carol Simmons Pack (Kerry Manning) of Easley, SC; half-sister, Rose Marie Miller of Bridgeton, NJ; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Don Burke Skidmore and Walter Phipps Skidmore.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, SC, with the service to follow at 4:30 in the mortuary chapel.

Graveside service will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 8, at the Hacker Valley Cemetery in Hacker Valley, WV.
