Elaine Mustoe, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at the age of 72. Born and raised in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, she loved the mountains of West Virginia and decided to call this her home.

Elaine was a dedicated professional who proudly retired after 25 years career as a secretary for the West Virginia State Police, where her hard work and commitment touched many lives. Above all else, she will be remembered for the kind of mom she was. She poured her heart into her family and community anchoring her life in deep faith as a devoted member of Elk Valley Chapel.

Her love was creative and personal. She brought immense joy to so many by handcrafting specialty cards that beautifully captured her care for others. Whether she was out on trails side-by-side riding, or cruising on the Harley with endless winding roads, sharing a laugh with friends, or simply spending time with her family, she embraced life with a warm generous and adventurous spirit.

She was a steady source of unconditional love, comfort and strength. She also absolutely adored her beloved dog, Miss Sassy, who was her constant companion and brought so much extra joy to her days.

While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, creativity and absolute devotion to her family will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her best.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, John Mustoe, her loving daughter Jennifer Mustoe and cherished granddaughters Lillyann Ratliff and Ivylynn Lobban, her lifelong friends Valerie and Karen, and a large circle of extended family and dear friends who meant the world to her. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Lowry; mother Mary Marshall Lowry, Aunt and Uncle Jon and Linda Heinzen; brother Ed Lowry; and step-daughter Heather Mustoe.
