Doris "Jean" Cool

Doris Imogene ''Jean'' Cool, 90 years of age and resident of Diana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Country Living Private Care Home in Jane Lew.  She was  born December 28, 1928 in Sutton,WV and raised in Bergoo, WV, the daughter of the late Ernie and Maze (Stutler) Harper of Craigsville, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Denzil Harper.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Roy Earl Cool, her sons; Roy Edward Cool (Dee) of Shinnston (Middlebourne), WV, John (Nancy) Cool of Lumberport, WV, Daniel ''Ike'' (Cindy) Cool of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada,  6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Jean and Roy were married on December 26,1948.  She was a 1946 graduate of Webster Springs High School and later attended Marshall University and received her teaching certificate.   She taught elementary school in Webster, Doddridge, Marshall and Harrison Counties.    She was a member of the Holly River Baptist Church, Eastern Star Lodge #161, Camden on Gauley.  She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Courtesy Squares square dance club of Lumberport for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed spending the winters in FL with her husband.

Services to celebrate Jean’s life will be held 1pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2019  at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with the Rev. Daniel “Ike” Cool and the Rev. Scott Posey officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly River Baptist Church Cemetery, Diana.

Friends may join the family for visitation 6-9 on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
