Donald Ray Wine, 84, of Webster Springs, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Born March 12, 1940 in Webster Springs, he was the son of the late Oscar and Lillian (Cochran) Wine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Wine, Johnny Joe Wine, and Shirley Wine; sister, Marjorie Arthur; and half-brother, Hayward Cutlip.
Donald retired from Webster County Memorial Hospital Maintenance department after working there for over thirty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a skilled craftsman, and on any given day you could find him having had created a masterpiece out of any ol’ piece of wood. His love for the Lord led him to become the Pastor of Big Run Church. He would also spread the news of his Savior throughout nursing homes and even in jails in a quest to give everyone an opportunity to be led to Jesus Christ. He attended church at New Hope Baptist and Upper Holly Union Mission.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Donnie Wine; grand-daughter, Tiffany Wine; daughter-in-law, Drema Wine; brother, Norman Wine; sisters: Bonnie Rice, Cleo Chapman, and Betty Hamrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends to mourn his passing.
