Donald Earl Vandevender, 89 of Webster Springs, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Webster Healthcare Center. He was born September 16, 1935 in Bergoo to the late Grover and Violet Baughman Vandevender.
Don retired from American Standard in Ohio and worked for the Webster County Sheriff’s Office. He was a Deacon at Elk Valley Chapel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Madonna; son Randell Vandevender; and daughter Teresa Jordan.
Left to cherish his memory are his step-daughter Melissa “Cathy” (Kevin) Jones; step-son John Howell; daughter-in-law Alice Vandevender; son-in-law Melvin Jordan; grandchildren: Christie (James) Lynch, Damian (Heather) Vandevender, Amelia (Joe) Pudder, Justin (Kate) Vandevender, Bradly (Beth) Jordan, Bart (Jenna) Jordan, Brett (Sara) Jordan; 11 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren: Michael Heaston Bragg and Matthew Freeman Bragg; six cousins; and several extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services to celebrate Don’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Paul Rounds officiating.
Friends may join the family for visitation three hours prior to service time, from 12:00 until 3:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
