Delores Jean Aleshire Joy

Delores Jean Aleshire Joy, 90 of Webster Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 17, 1935 in Barrett, Boone County, WV to the late Wallace and Ethel Mundy Mills.

Delores was a member of Bergoo Baptist Church where she was very active until her health declined. She enjoyed going to the casino, reading, visiting with people, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She had a giving spirit and would help anytime she could.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Milton Joy; son Tony Ray Aleshire; daughter Sarah Aleshire; brothers Carl Mills and Jimmy Truman; and brother-in-law Bob Marvel.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Marketia (Ron) Baker, Kent (Anita) Aleshire, Jimmy (Cheryl) Aleshire, Rodney (Linda) Aleshire, Clifford (Susan) Aleshire, and Tim (Susan) Aleshire; brother: Oscar (Dinah) Mills; sisters: Linda (Jim) Clutter, Barbara Marvel, and Kay (Jim) Dyer; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services to celebrate Delores’ life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Bennie Cowger officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to service time, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
