Delmar Roy Clevenger, 75 of Summersville passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1937 in Jumbo to Cecil and Irma Carpenter Clevenger. He was a coal miner and attended First Church of God. He was a member of Allegheny Outback Band and enjoyed playing blue grass music, hunting, fishing, and trapping. His biggest passion was music.
Delmar is survived by his wife Rose Belle Tenney Clevenger of Summersville; children Michael Roy Clevenger, Joseph Duane Clevenger, and Debra Townsend all of Aiken, SC; brothers Elmer Clevenger of Charleston and Dorlan Clevenger of Webster Springs; sisters Joy Jones of Galesburg, WI and Versie Gregory of Burbank, OH; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gene, Don, Wilmer, and Kenneth Clevenger; and sister Karen Clevenger.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, June 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wendell Gum officiating. Interment will follow in Cutlip Cemetery, Webster Springs.
