Delbert Harlan Sparks, 70 of Webster Springs passed away on June 30, 2011 at Nella's Nursing Home in Elkins. He was born July 21, 1940 in Craigsville to George Junior and Delphia Lee Blankenship Sparks and worked in road construction and coal mining. He spent most of his life in Webster County, was a Deacon in the Seventh Day Adventist Church and volunteered at the Market Place Mission. Delbert is survived by his wife Judy Sparks of Webster Springs; daughters Nancy (Daniel) Henline of Bolair and Sandy (Mitchell) Holcomb of Gauley River; brother Gary Sparks of Gauley River; sisters Ruth Clevenger of Parcoal, Reva Dale Williams of Webster Springs, Carol Jean Riffle and Ellen Ann Sparks both of Bolair; grandson Tony Holcomb and great-grandchildren Haley, Noah and Matthew Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Charles and George Stephen Sparks. Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 6-9 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Buchannon of Craigsville officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Church Cemetery, Upperglade.
