Cynthia Sleeper

September 8, 1966 — January 3, 2018

It is with much regret we must share our sadness and announce the passing of our angel, Cynthia Jane Sears Sleeper, of Charlotte NC.

The beloved wife of Joseph Sleeper and doggy mom to Brutus, Cindy was born in Webster Springs, WV on September 8, 1966. She was the cherished daughter of Charles H. & Jessie Sears, and the older little sister and best friend of Sherry Sears, all of Webster Springs. Cindy was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by her nephews and nieces, Kyle Nehls, Brenna (Eric) Riedel, J.D. Sleeper, Allison & Remmington Rowe, and Jessie & Jennifer Henthorne; adoring mother in law, Shirley (Shirl) Sleeper; sister in laws, Candy (Rob) Rowe and Debbie Henthorne; brother in laws, Greg (Jorenda) Sleeper and Michael Sleeper. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Hurley & Alice Sears & Wade & Goldie Goff; step-grandmother, June Goff; her nephew, Brandon Sears; Father in law, John Sleeper; and brother in laws, Bobby Sleeper and Tom Henthorne.

Cindy was an alumnus of the Webster County Highlander class of 1984. After obtaining degrees in Business Technology and Computer programming, she went on to spend the next 27 years in the restaurant industry, 20 of which were spent working for Bob Evans Farms in management. In 1990 Cindy married her confidante, her true love, Joe Sleeper, originally of Mt. Vernon, OH. She had a great love for animals and loved her puppies as family.

Cindy could be described as spirited, strong, compassionate, loyal, genuine, and determined. Her interests led her through pageants, horse shows, Showgirls, cheerleading, athletics, and band. She loved cooking, entertaining, and collecting Longenberger.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Funeral Services to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Sears officiating.
