Coy Delbert Gillespie, 84 of Hacker Valley passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence.  He was born January 22, 1929 in Replete to Cares and Mae Jordan Gillespie and was a lifelong resident of Webster County.  He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, was foreman for Peaker Run Coal Company for 17 years; Webster County Commissioner for 18 years; and was a logger.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows #369 Hacker Valley Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, square dancing, and calling square dancing.

Coy is survived by his wife Lucealie Cowger Gillespie; son Richard Cares (Teri) Gillespie of Hacker Valley; daughters Judy (David) Jeffries of Buckhannon, Nora (Gerald) Cutlip of Cleveland, and Paula (Phillip) Campbell of Weston; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.

Friends may join the family on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.  Funeral Services to celebrate Coy's life will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Cosner officiating.  Interment will follow in Replete Cemetery.
