Clarence Woodring

Clarence Granville Woodring, 80 of Webster Springs passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Fayette Nursing & Rehab Center in Fayetteville. He was born December 4, 1935 in Cumberland, MD to Clarence and Myrtle McKenzie Woodring and was a welder by trade. He worked for 11 years in California and Ohio in the ship yards.
He loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a stern, hard-working man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Clarence is survived by his wife Loretta Garnette Cogar Woodring; sons Boyd Steven (Mollie) Woodring of Bolair and William Dale Cogar of Fayetteville; daughters Viola Roann Woodring of Bolair and Celia Christina (Ernie) Hickman of Camden on Gauley; sisters Macil of Cowen, Dolly of Summersville, Shirley of Tennessee, and Sue of Virginia; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kimberly Diann Woodring; and brother Marvin Woodring.
In keeping with his wishes, no services will take place and his cremains will be interred next to his mother, daughter, and grandson in the Cornelius Hamrick Cemetery on the family farm on Kingfisher Road.
