Chester McCoy

Chester Thurmond McCoy, 86 of Lanse, Pennsylvania, formerly of Webster Springs, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. He was born May 7, 1929 in Webster County to Walsie and Almeda Hammons McCoy and was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver, retiring from Consolidated Freightways in 1991, after receiving an award for a considerable amount of miles driven safely. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ann Barnes McCoy of PA; sons Travis McCoy of PA and Michael McCoy of KY; step-son B.J. Barnes of PA; daughter Suetta McCoy of NC; brother Lemon Doyle McCoy of KY; and half-sister Wilma Lough of MD. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Lucille Gillespie McCoy; and brothers, Donal and Freemon McCoy.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Chester’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Upper Holly Union Mission Church with Rev. Dennis McCoy, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in McCoy Cemetery, Webster Springs.
