Carol Lee (Hyre) Hamrick, 71, of Bergoo, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
Born June 27, 1945 in Buckhannon, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Mae (Cutright) Hyre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dale “Lyn” Hyre and sister, Ruth Ann Evans.
Carol was a 1963 graduate of Webster Springs High School and the owner of Bergoo Creek Bait and Tackle. Carol enjoyed sewing and talking to friends. She especially liked to cook, often making very large dinners and feeding a number of people. Carol had a big heart and was always helping out anyone who needed help.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Theron Hamrick; children, Cathy (husband, Mitchell) McCoy of Florence, SC, Mark (wife, Jennifer) Hamrick of Bergoo, Matt (wife, Angie) of Webster Springs; grandchildren, Chance McCoy, Skylar McCoy, Ryleigh McCoy, Brantley Hamrick, Travis Williams, Tiffany Hamrick, Lora (husband, Chris) Lamp, and Hunter Hamrick; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin (wife, Thurlene) Hyre; sister, Debbie (husband, Bobby) Russell; lifelong friend, Shirley Conner; beloved dog, Cheyanne; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Friends may join the family for visitation 2pm-5pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Pastor Sherman Goodwin will offer a few words of comfort at approximately 4:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
