Bonnie Gene Hanshaw

Bonnie Gene (Hall) Hanshaw, 81 of Letart, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, OH. 

She was born June 20, 1942 in Diana to the late Perry and Genevieve (Hall) Bennett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ronnie Hanshaw; son, David Hanshaw; and daughter, Donna Hanshaw.

Bonnie had lived in Myrtle Beach for 29 years and held various jobs over those years, with some of her favorite jobs being an usher for the Carolina Opry, Post Office Clerk and a Customer Service Representative at Belk Department store, where she worked in the shoe department during the summer months and the Clinique makeup counter in the winter-time. She also enjoyed being a Tupperware Representative because it allowed her an opportunity to travel to places like Florida.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and working puzzles.  

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Douglas Hanshaw; grandchildren: Lisa Tomes and April Schramm, both of OH; great-grandchildren: Mariah, Michael, Bianca, William, and Robby; great-great-granddaughter Gracie; brother, Emil (Sharon) Bennett; niece and nephew: Tammy and Todd; lifelong friend, Shirley Lynch; and many extended family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs.  Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery, Diana. Friends may join the family from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dodd & Reed Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs.
