Bobby Rice

Bobby E. Rice, 79 of Webster Springs, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born September 26, 1939 in Bolair, a son of the late Edward Rice and Eva Mae Rice Jones. On July 17, 1960 he married the love of his life, Windy E. L. Jonas, who passed away on February 15, 2016 and who will be buried with Bobby, and they will be together forever and ever.

Bobby is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Jeorgia Mae and Carl Clayton; two grandsons Bobby Joe Lester and Ben Alan Garvin; great-grandson Tyler Ray Garvin; great-granddaughter Kaylee Ann Garvin; brothers Bill Rice of Vermilion, OH and Delmas (Shirley) Rice of Webster Springs; sisters Glenda Baker of Charleston, Dixie Steortz of Oak Island, NC, Carol (Jerry) Jordan of Webster Springs, and Millie (Larry) Case of Churchville, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister and brother-in-law Maxine and Robert Wallen, brothers-in-law David Steortz and Ervil Baker, and sister-in-law June Rice.

He was a Christian by faith and a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 33 years of service. He was an active Free Mason belonging to Addison Lodge #116 A.F. & A.M. Bobby was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, December 24, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating. Interment with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in Rice Cemetery, Webster Springs.
