Bobby Hines

Bobby L. Hines, 84 of Holly River Rd., Webster Springs, WV, departed this life on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Webster Nursing and Rehab, Cowen, WV.  He was born in Jumbo, WV, Feb. 27, 1930, son of the late Alva and Lula Hines Gum.  He was a coal miner, working 25 years for Island Creek Coal.  He was a lifelong resident of Webster County, an Army veteran, and loved his family, hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers:  Gerald and Eugene Gum, sister:  Juanita McCoy and grandchild:  John Hines.

Those left to treasure his memory are his wife:  Nancy Cogar Hines of Webster Springs, sons:  Rocky Hines and wife Sharon of Gladeview, WV, and Randy Hines and wife Sherry of Upperglade, WV, daughters:  Cheryl Ratliff and husband Scott of Heaters, WV, and Wendy Hines and husband Tom of Parkersburg, WV, brothers:  Wendal Gum, Gary Gum, and Garnett Gum all of Jumbo, WV, and Ronnie Clevenger of Upperglade, WV, sisters:  Rosanell Clevenger and Nancy Tanner both of Jumbo, WV, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Curt Davis officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the Dave Cogar Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday, May 26, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
