Betty Z. Miller

Betty Z. Miller, 94+, of Webster Springs, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Summersville Healthcare Center.

Betty was born April 3, 1932 in Webster County to the late Charles and Orpha Cochran Perkins. She loved her family and loved to garden and spend time outdoors. Every cat in the neighborhood had a home with Betty. She made the best chicken and dumplings and applesauce pie in the world. She lived to see five generations and truly loved the Lord. Betty loved her church family at the nursing home and enjoyed playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jennings Miller; son Eugene “Happy Jack” Hines; brothers: Romeo, Harold, and Dorman Perkins; and sister Suzie Hall.

Jennings and Betty together had seven children who survives: JoAnne Cain, Diane (Bill) Watson, Joy (Chuck) Skeens, Neary (Doug) House, Jamie Miller, and Rick (Janet) Miller; grandchildren: Beverly, Wendy, Andy, Necole, Michelle, Neary, Jonathan, Angie, Martha, Missy, and Mindy; several great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend she met at the nursing home, Patsy Wolfe; and many extended family and friends to mourn her passing.

Services to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Eddie Bender officiating. She will be laid to rest next to Jennings in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to service time, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on Monday at the funeral home.
