Bessie Louise Fisher, 79 of Exchange passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Clay Health Care Center. She was born May 25, 1935 in Cabin Creek to Arthur and Almeda Stover Grounds and was a cook for the Webster County Jail. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning house, gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her family.
Bessie is survived by her son Eddie (wife Brenda) Green of Hacker Valley; daughter Kathy McCourt of Exchange; grandchildren Angel, Joshua, Nivia, Brooke, and David; great-grandchildren Felicia, Chance, Dalton, and Dillian; 32 foster grandchildren; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Fisher; brothers Homer, Allen, Melvin, Calvin, Clifford, Charles, and Robert; sisters Evelyn Hamrick and Gertrude Sparks; and grandson Jason Green.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Bessie's life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Holly River Baptist Church Cemetery, Diana.
