Beatrice J. "B.J." Jordan of Webster Springs, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Coatesville, IN. Due to her declining health, she had been staying with her son and his family for about a year. BJ formerly lived on Grassy Creek just off Route 20 in Webster County. Her life's passion was caring for others. She made her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse working in hospitals and nursing homes in Indiana, Texas, California, and finally her birth state and place she always called home, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her father Mark Pence; mother Ona (Cochran) Pence; brother Ben Pence; sister Emily Monsma; husband Paul Jordan; and son Stanley E. Gilkison. She is survived by her son Stephen W. Gilkison and wife Janice; granddaughter Heather Nicholson; four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many beloved friends.
