Wharton

Audra Lucille Hamrick, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace. She lived a long and beautiful life—one filled with family, faith, laughter, and countless memories.

She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who brought endless smiles to her face and warmth to her heart. Being their grandmother was one of her proudest roles, and her love for them was deep, constant, and evident.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind spirit, gentle wisdom, and the way she made those around her feel loved and welcomed. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will forever be a treasure to those who knew her.

She lived the past 15 years of her life with her daughter Pam (and family) whose love, patience, and unwavering care made her mother’s later years comfortable, dignified, and full of love. Her selfless dedication was a true reflection of the bond they shared.

She loved sharing old wives tales and bits of wisdom passed down through generations. She was a wonderful cook and no one could ever make drop biscuits or special eggs like she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Everett Williams, her husband Joe Hamrick, her brothers: Harold “Sonny” Ratliff, Junior Williams, Arnett Williams, Gary Williams, and her sister: Thelma Beverage.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Pamela (Randall) White. Her granddaughters Cara (John) Wallen and Brianne (Chad) Barker. Her great grandchildren: Garrett (Maranda) Castle, Chandler Castle, Jagger Castle, Maddiex (Dakota) Castle, and Cambri Barker. Her great-great grandchildren Hudson and Baylor Castle and Emberlynn Johnson (due in April). Her sister in laws Barbara Williams and Nancy Williams and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would love to express their deepest gratitude to: Melissa Thomas for the best perms, Mary Frame for the care and company she provided over the past few years, Erman and Robin Moore and Van Pharmacy for being dear friends taking care of all her needs, the staff at Meadow Brook for the past month of love and care, Boone Memorial ER staff and floor staff for the care and kindness they gave in her last days, and The Hubbard Hospice House for the comfort care and love they gave in her last hours.
