Artie Jewel Rogers Cogar, 84 years old, of (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia, Webster County, passed away at Webster County Memorial Hospital, Webster Springs, West Virginia, Friday, August 24, 2012, at 5:15 AM. Jewel was born April 10, 1928 at (Upper Big Run, West Virginia) Nicut, West Virginia,  Calhoun County.  She was the loving daughter of the late Gruder and Ella Gay Bailey Rogers of St. George, West Virginia, Tucker County. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Lester Forest Rogers; brothers-in-law: Elmer Clyde Anderson, Stanley Gerald "Staley" McCumbers, and Charles Edward "Buddy" Myers; sisters: Orva Gay Rogers McCumbers and Tina Garnett Rogers Myers; her niece, Amelia Carman McCumbers Gibson Potener Snyder; and nephew, Chester Lee Rogers; and precious grandpoms:  Honey Jo, Fluffy Jo, and Cassy Jo Isner. Jewel is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, 4 months, and 30 days, Leonard Allen Cogar, of (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia, married on March 25, 1950;  two very special loving daughters:  Marjorie Ann Cogar of (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia, and Kathryn June Cogar (Robert
Arthur) Isner of Andrew, West Virginia and (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia;  brother, Captain Ford (Donie Estaline Moffatt) Rogers of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, and sister, Doris Emogene Rogers
(Allen Dale "Squirrel") Myers, of St. George, West Virginia, brother-in-law, Alva Heaston (Bonnie Irene Hosey) Cogar of (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia; and sisters-in-law:  Bernice Josephine Brady Rogers, of Baltimore, Maryland and Mathias, West Virginia; Mazie Mallisia Cogar Anderson of (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia; snd several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jewel loved her Lord and Saver, was a Protestant, and was a former member of Beaver Run Advent
Christian Church, (Bolair, West Virginia) Webster Springs, West Virginia.   She went to school at Upper Big Run Grade School (Upper Big Run, West Virginia) Nicut, West Virginia.  She formerly worked at Merideth Store in
Baltimore, Maryland, and at Ball Park Restaurant in Street, Maryland. She enjoyed cleaning her beloved family's home, cooking, quilting, gardening, singing, working with flowers, collecting bells, watching television, etc. Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, West Virginia.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor James Martin "Marty" Cowger of Bolair, West Virginia officiating.  Pastor Ronald Larry Cochran of (Grassy Creek) Webster Springs, West Virginia will be singing.  Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are:  Dale Robert Anderson, Thomas Wayne "Tommy" Anderson, Stephen Ray "Steve" Cogar, Anthony Dale "Tony" Myers, Charles Vernon "Charlie" Myers, William Luther "Billy" Knight Jr., William Luther "Billy" Knight, III, and Thomas Edward "Tommy" Tichner.  Interment will be in Beaver Run Cemetery, Bolair, West Virginia.
