Ada Pearl Carpenter, 96 of Hacker Valley passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her residence.  She was born March 29, 1917 in Replete to Ballard and Vernie Cowger Fisher and was a homemaker.  She was a lifelong resident of Webster County and was a Christian.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, raising flowers especially African violets, canning and gardening.  Her biggest joy came from beading necklaces, bracelets, and other items.  She sold or gave away hundreds of necklaces and bracelets to the people of Webster and Upshur County. She also made dolls and purses from various items.  Ada never met a stranger and was a kind heart that will not be easily forgotten.

Ada is survived by her daughters Thelma Currence of Sutton and Gathel Wireman of Hacker Valley; brother Doy Fisher; sister Freda Fisher Spencer; grandchildren Lisa Wireman, Phillip Wireman, Donnie Currence, Jay Currence, Roger Currence, Bonnie Quick, and Ronnie Carpenter; 7 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Opha Carpenter; sons Ray Carpenter and Dale Carpenter; brothers Lester, Emmett, and Cecil Fisher; sisters Ethel, Parcie, and Bertha "Beachie"; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Cosner officiating.  Interment will follow in Ware Cemetery, Replete, Hacker Valley.
