Mark Samuel Nichols, 42 of Bridgeport passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, September 06, 2017 due to a heart attack. He was born July 15, 1975 in Webster Springs to Sam and Kathy (Clutter) Nichols. Mark was a graduate of Webster County High School and Glenville State College and was a foreman for Cogar Enterprises. He loved to hunt and fish and was deeply loved by his family. He was very generous and loved to help people.

Mark is survived by his companion Danielle Van Ness and her daughter Mariah Van Ness; his parents; sisters Mary (husband Harvey) Miller and Rebecca (husband Greg) Wimer; nieces Amanda (Jon) Plastow, Becca Miller, and Rachel Wimer; nephews Nate Wimer and Jacob Wimer; great-nieces Grace and Nora Plastow; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends and extended family members.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, September 09, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev.  Sherman Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Clifton Ford Cemetery, Webster Springs.
