Martha Jean Morton 94 of Cowen passed away July 26, 2010 in Summersville Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Cowen on June 18, 1916 a daughter of the late James Nathan Berty, Jr. and Rose Pearl Herold Berthy. Also preceding her in death was husband Lester B. Morton; son Charles Keith Morton; granddaughter, Christy Morton; great-grandson Andrew C. Gregory, two brothers and two sisters. She was a Methodist by faith, a life lond resident of Webster County, and the fromer owner of Shaffers & Bears Drug Store.  She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildre , great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. service will be held Friday July 30, 2010 at 11:00AM in Adams-Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery , Cowen. Friends will be received Thursday July 29, 2010 from 5:-8:PM at the funeral home.
