Emogene Riggs Shaffer Miller, 83 of Clarksburg, formerly of Calhoun County, WV passed away on January 24, 2012 at her home after an extended illness.  She was born December 30, 1928 in Calhoun County to Lester Merlin and Ethel Bell George Riggs.  She was a legal secretary for the majority of her life, attended Bryner Chapel United Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Rev. David K. (Alma) Shaffer of Clarksburg and Michael E. (Debra) Shaffer of Newport News, VA; sisters Willadene Poling, Evelyn Ferrell, and Maxine Duskey; grandchildren Shawn David Shaffer, Nathaniel Shaffer, Victoria Rutherford, Ashley Shaffer, Amber Shaffer, and Jonathan Michael Shaffer; and great-grandchildren Colton Rutherford and Alanna Shaffer.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glen E. Miller; first husband Ernest Keith Shaffer; brother Lester Merlin Riggs, Jr.; and sisters Elodene Law, Irene Basnett, and Geraldine Riggs.

Interment was in Bryner Chapel Cemetery, Joker, WV.  Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Calhoun County.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mt.
